Wish there was a festival that encompassed more than food and drinks?
Foo Foo Fest has been celebrating music, art, and community for a while. Now in its 6th year, the festival is one of the largest and highly anticipated culture and arts festivals in the Southeast. The nonprofit Art, Culture, and Entertainment, Inc. produces the enormous 12 day festival that's lasting from October 31 to November 11 this year. It started as a way to fill the downtime between Pensacola’s other cultural events. Their goal of attracting tourists looking for culture in the South keeps working every year.
“Foo Foo” comes from the random breakout parties that occured on 19th century ships. Members of the crew would come together to form a band and perform for those aboard. Foo Foo Fest is the literal reincarnation of that period in time where everyone was brought together by a love of music and community.

The best part about Foo Foo Fest is that many of the events are FREE to attend so most spending costs for the trip are travel, food and lodging. When making plans to attend the fest, choose your events in advance so you can grab tickets, if needed. There’s nothing worse than getting to the front of the line to realize you don’t have your ticket to get into the event.
While the fest does have hotel partners offering a special rate with the code “FOO”, you might have better luck finding a cheaper place to stay on Airbnb that’s still close to the festivities. Pensacola isn’t a terribly expensive city to visit so it’s the perfect quick getaway for your partner or best friends. Bring a few people with you and split the
