As we get older we tend to play down birthdays, but when it comes down to it we all still enjoy a good party and celebration as much as we did when we were young. A surprise party is a wonderful way to show someone just how much they mean to everyone, and seeing all of their loved ones gathered unexpectedly can be a birthday treat within itself. Maybe your guy really deserves to know that he’s loved this year, maybe he’s had a rough time lately or is feeling a little disconnected from the ones that matter. Perhaps you just want to see the look on his face when everyone jumps out and shouts ‘surprise!’ Either way, there are a few things to bear in mind to ensure you can pull it off.
The more people that know about the party, the more likely it is that it will get back to him. As it’s a surprise party you’ll want it to remain a closely guarded secret between you and whoever is going to help you put it together. Be aware of leaving pages in your search history relating to the party if you share a computer, and ask friends not to text about it unless they’re sure he won’t be with you! Once it’s all arranged and you know the details you can let the guests know, with strict instructions not to let it get back to the birthday boy.
