Gingivitis is inflammation of the gums caused by bacteria that builds up and irritates the gums, so it’s important to ensure that you’re taking as much care of your gums as you are of your teeth, as this can lead to problems that are hard and expensive to treat once they become advanced.

What is gingivitis?

Gingivitis is the clinical name for a mild form of gum disease, which generally results in the gums becoming inflamed, red, and sometimes painful after bacteria from excess plaque builds up on and around the teeth, and in hard to reach places around the gum area.


They may also bleed when you eat, during brushing your teeth, or become sensitive to touch.
